Local Businesses Get Thank You from AACPS Nov 2009

We congratulate the following local businesses who were recently presented with a Certificate of Recognition for all of their help and support of local public schools. The awards were presented by Lorna Leone, Area Director for all of the Arundel and South River feeder schools for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
"We have many local businesses who go above and beyond to help schools in their community," said Mrs. Leone. "We just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all you are doing."
Village at Waugh Chapel Chick-fil-A
Pictured here with Mrs. Leone is Pamela Smith who, with her husband Brian, owns this business that provides a character education program to many of the local schools, as well as fundraising nights to allow schools to supplement their technology and supplies budgets during the year.
Gold's Gym of Crofton
Here Mrs. Leone thanks manager Brian Griffin for their support of local school events, as well as the purchase of a defribrillator for local school buildings.
Ledo Pizza at Eddie's Place - Crofton
Owner Scott Taggart and his longtime manager Meghan Patrick are congratulated by Mrs. Leone for all of their hard work in supporting monthly school fundraising nights at the restaurant which has resulted in over $30,000 to local schools and community groups.
LA Fitness - Village at Waugh Chapel
Mrs. Leone congratulates Manager Jobei Gazhette with his award for their support of local schools' fitness programs and fundraisers. The gym also provides great membership deals for AACPS staff members.
