Crofton Chamber Plans for 2010

Members of the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce celebrated a year of progress in 2009 and learned of great things to come for 2010 during their annual Installation Dinner recently held at the Blue Dolphin restaurant.
Members of the 2010 GCCC Board were sworn in to duty by Clerk of the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel County Bob Duckworth. This year’s Board of Directors are:
President Bob Carr, TLC Irrigation and Lighting;
Vice President Tom Locke, Thombas B. Locke & Associates;
Secretary Don Risher, Belair Engineering; and
Treasurer Dominic Scine, Scine Accounting.
Thomas Callahan, Callahan & Callahan;
Bill Creighton, Daniels Printing;
Mark Cunningham, Cunningham Contracting;
Chris Engler, Engler Information Technologies;
Glorious Heath, Essex Bank;
John Hollywood, Rosenzweig, Hollywood & McDowell;
Robert Johnston, AA Co. Assn. of Realtors; and
Laura Tayman, Suburban Scene.
Mr. Carr provided a slideshow during the event showcasing the many achievements of the 2009 year, including over 50 new members, numerous grand openings and mixers, the establishment of the new Women in Business and Education committees, the success of the shrimp feast and charity golf tournament, as well as the new community guide.
Plans for 2010 were also unveiled including a new Lunch and Learn program focused on the use of technology in growing a business, a new state of the art website, and a new Support Local Business campaign.
Four awards were handed out, including:
*Business Education Partner of the Year: Ledo Pizza at Eddie's Place for their outstanding partnerships with local schools; and
*the President's Appreciation Award:
Joe Bowen of Bowen Painting and Remodeling for his leadership with the Chesapeake Homeowners Network;
Robert Duckworth, Clerk of the Circuit Court of AA Co. for his support of chamber events; and
Laura Tayman of Suburban Scene for her active participation with Board activities for 2009.
